Become a Knight
The Knights of Columbus is a brotherhood of Catholic men, age 18 and older, who put their faith into action. Here at St. Columbkille, joining the Archbishop Bergan Council means serving your parish, supporting your family, and building friendships with men who share your values.
Why Join?
Brotherhood. Get to know men from our parish at meetings, breakfasts, dinners, and events throughout the year.
Service. Make a real difference through Coats for Kids, blood drives, the Tootsie Roll Drive, and youth programs.
Family. Your wife and kids are welcome at many council events, including our Christmas Party.
Faith. Grow spiritually with other Catholic men. Every council meeting begins with the Rosary.
How to Join
1. Join online. Sign up through the Knights of Columbus website and choose Archbishop Bergan Council #6429 as your council. Your first year of membership is often free when you join online.
2. Or talk to us in person. Find any Knight in a blue council shirt after Mass, or stop by our monthly Knights Breakfast. We’d be glad to answer your questions.
3. Come to a meeting. Council meetings are the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 PM in the Sacred Heart Center. Guests are always welcome.
For information on joining – contact Mitchell Godfrey at mitchell.godfrey.koc@gmail.com.
As a Knight, you and your family receive Columbia, the Knights’ monthly magazine, and become eligible for the Knights of Columbus insurance and financial programs, built to protect Catholic families. Above all, you gain a brotherhood of men who will stand with you and your family.
Knights who have reached the Third Degree may go on to join the Fourth Degree, also called the Patriotic Degree. Its members promote patriotism and responsible citizenship, and some serve as the color corps at Church and community events.
Our Ladies Auxiliary is an essential part of the council. They support our Knights at events, help with cooking and setting up the hall, and contribute to the council’s charitable work. Wives and family members of Knights are always welcome to get involved.
